Looking for suggestions!
We *really* need to upgrade our office space since we work from home a lot these days. I am looking for something semi-milled with no live edge, we don't mind sanding and staining but we don't have the equipment to do a lot of big cutting.
I have a feeling it's going to be pricey, but if you have a place that won't charge a million spacebux, even better.

(The piece we would need is big: 7.5' long, and about 20-22" wide and about 1.5" thick. Would love maple, cherry or walnut. We also want a return, but the length on that will depend on the slab we can find, assume 5.5' x 17"-ish.)

Kozelas lumber sells live edge slabs and other exotic hardwoods that are rough milled. David Fage on Facebook market place (cash only), And Buttonwoods mill on Facebook (cash only). I have bought from in the past.

Re read your post. All of these places would be happy to cut dimensional lumber for you from live edge slabs.

Kozelas was around $10 per board foot for birds eye maple and high end is black walnut @ $18 per board foot.

I can't vouch for them, but I just found them this morning looking for a source for some sustainable plywood.

I have always shopped at RI Sawmill. They have a great selection and almost everything is locally harvested. Bring your checkbook, though - they donā€™t take cards.

I have no idea whether these guys are crazy expensive and I canā€™t vouch for them.

They are in NY.
