Hi everyone I’m from out of town visiting.. I have questions on places close to Portsmouth that have great atmospheres for meeting single women or people in general to make friends if possible. I may be moving for work. Not married, traveled a lot for work but on some work assignments that may be permanent and I wanted to get a consensus. Thank you for any input.

RI is about the same as anywhere else for finding friends/love.

You can try MeetUp, clubs, volunteering, classes, and/or sport/gym. Or church, if that’s your thing. Hang out at coffee shops or book stores. You could start a singles club.

It’s interesting to ask married people where they met. Seems like the most common answer is either online dating sites or work.

Obviously you didn’t get it, and if you are from RI and know Portsmouth. it looks dead to me, So I was asking on here before I travel to get an idea and maybe set up an itinerary. Anyways thanks for your insight. Sorry it’s hard for you to Comprehend a simple question and this isn’t just married a thread to join.

The women I meet in Portsmouth have all been married for 20 years. I met several young single guys on dates who drove up to Providence for any and all dates. They didn't have amazing things to say about Newport either other than they drank a lot at bars (but this was several years ago so maybe things have changed). You will be driving up to Providence for probably most dates/young person activities, just fyi. Some locals will consider that long distance for a relationship, as absurd as that sounds, so it may limit your options for relationships.

Do not buy. I feel like that is the go to financial situation, but a total risk if you absolutely do not know the area and are apprehensive about the culture already. You'll be dropping at least 700k on a hunch and if you are that financially well off, you can probably afford to rent for a year while you evaluate where you will actually be happy living here.

Portsmouth has a wind turbine up on top of the hill off East Main Road, there’s a beautiful princess up there at the tippy top and she is waiting for someone from out of town to come and climb up there to rescue her

Male or female? Gay, straight or bi? What sort of relationship are you looking for? What age range are you in?
