My partners recently taken up an interest in archery and target shooting and I’m on the hunt (heh heh) for activities to do with her that we could enjoy together. Any suggestions?

I love this place, didnt know they were still open
I was into archery a lot before I moved to Rhode Island but then went back to school and started a new career, had a kid..etc and kind of set it aside. That being said I would look into local sportsman’s clubs that usually have a range to shoot at. Sometimes they have leagues as well. I used to shoot at archers lane in north Attleboro (not even sure it’s there anymore) in their league and had a lot of fun.
I've done Xspot Archery in Attleboro. It was a standard archery experience. They sometimes do Groupons.
You can go to the Archery Related Activity Store in Wickford.
There is a small archery club in Narragansett. They have indoor and outdoor area to shoot. Everyone I have met there is really nice.
Also hunting related… sporting clays. It’s basically golf with shotguns. There is multiple “holes” that have multiple clays that simulate different animals and presentations. The rabbit is my favorite (bounces on the ground).
Peace Dale has an easy and hard course. They rent shotguns. As a lady, I can shoot a 12 gauge, but I prefer a 20 gauge over under. I would avoid any clays that go straight up. Your instinct is to lift your head off the gun, and then the gun recoil will punch you in the face. As long as your face and shoulder are against the gun, it doesn’t have the space to smack you. I suggest you start with 1-1.5 boxes of ammo per person (instead of two). If you are having fun, stop and grab a second box. You also don’t have to shoot both clay presentations at each hole/stand. You can try just one… you can try the same one five times… as long as you aren’t keeping score, you can do what you want!
There’s Tangy’s out in Warwick and X-Spot in Attleboro. I used to swing by X-Spot after class on Saturdays but but got busy so I haven’t gone back in a while.
There’s the Narragansett Bowhunters Club and the Cumberland Beagles Club, that both offer an indoor and outdoor range of some sort. I’ve never been to the one in Narragansett since I’m a bit timid and reading the rules for the place, I think it’s by invite or referral.
I’ve shot a few 3D courses out Cumberland and it’s a good hike for the exercise.
If you want to do clout shooting, my friend used to take me to the sand dunes out in West Greenwich. It’s open enough and sparing enough to shoot there.
Personally, I’ve been looking for places to do field archery and most cops I’ve asked said it’s OK to do in a park as long as you take the necessary precautions and have an arrow target.
Over the summer, the USFWS at Kettle Pond in Charlestown hosted free archery days and provided all equipment. I don't happen to know the plans for 2023; just putting it on your radar.
There is a combat archery place opening up off Valley Street in Providence, not sure when, but it shouldn't be long. Think dodgeball, but with foam tipped arrows.
I’ve heard good thing about Trader Jans in Fall River. I’m from CT and used to go to Hall’s Arrow in Manchester! We love it there, and even bought a bow from them. It’s pretty cheap with bring you’re own gear too. Now we live in Providence and haven’t shot our bows in like 2 years. We preferred shooting outside, but kinda hard to do in the city
Tangys and Xspot are the closest to the Providence area, between the two I'd recommend tangys
