Hey Everyone!

Recently, I've found it quite difficult to form and maintain new friendships. I have lived in RI my whole life, and recently graduated from URI. I had a lot of friends in high school and college, but lost touch with many after graduating. I still make sure to catch up with my closest friends every now and again, but it seems like I am seeing people less frequently lately.

It probably doesn't help that I'm fairly introverted, which worsened throughout the pandemic. Anyways, I'm posting here in the hope that some people may feel the same way, and are looking for new friends as well.

I'm in my early 20s, male, and have plenty of hobbies. I love to be active (running, biking, lifting, hiking), but am also an avid gamer. I'm a bit of a nerd, and love anything math, science, or programming related. You will often find me 3d printing something, working on a project, or getting obliterated by an 8 year old in Fortnite.

Feel free to reach out if you want!

I recommend joining some rec sports, if that sort of thing is even remotely of interest to you. I've lived here since ~2016, and never really had more than a small handful of local friends (who I had met at Uni). In the ~year and a half since I started playing rec sports, I have made many new friendships with some awesome people!

I guess parallels matching your listed hobbies might be local hiking / running / biking groups, or maybe a local tabletop game night? Unfortunately, I have no recommendations to make for these things lol

Come check out November Project - free fitness community that meets every Wednesday morning. SUPER welcoming group and I’ve made a lot of friends. There’s a PVD and Newport chapter

If you plan on coming to PVD we meet at the pedestrian bridge at 6:01 except for the final Wednesday of the month - that’s at the state house stairs. Weather canceled our state house day last week so we’re there tomorrow.

Love your username. Finishing up the last few exams I have for my ASA(actuary), so I’m usually studying or working. I don’t really drink or go out like others do, so i’ve only made a few friends up here. I second what others have posted about rec sports.

Come pick up tennis at RWP when the courts open in the spring. It’s a fun time, and I’ve made most of my friends/connections over there. I’ve been dying to go hiking around here, but haven’t gotten the opportunity yet. I got a gaming PC last year; I will DM you with my usernames later.
