This is a friendly reminder to read our rules.

Remember, /r/Showerthoughts is for showerthoughts, not "thoughts had in the shower!"

(For an explanation of what a "showerthought" is, please read this page.)

Rule-breaking posts may result in bans.

That's literally every social media platform. Also, how is this a shower thought?

OP, I think you have it backwards - the censoring of adult content frequently signals the downfall of a platform.

This is a shower thought? It's not even. This statement doesn't make sense.

Reddit: lots of porn, far from dying

Facebook: censors words like “butt”, is actually on the downfall

Seriously OP, do you even proofread your posts?

I think this thought is quite insightful.

LinkedIn for example has definitely turned from whatever it was, to containing quite alluring photos of women ('Businesswoman taking a break on the beach;' Me at the gym on a break between writing great copywriting e-mails', etc).

Whilst it's far from what the OP has in mind - it may at least be what the thin end of the wedge looks like.
