Why do pickles get to be pickles? As if cucumbers have a monopoly on pickling. Everything else has to be pickled eggs, pickled beans, pickled beets, etc. Not pickled cucumbers though, those are the upper echelon of pickling, the supreme leaders just known as pickles.
It’s kind of the same as my thoughts on the word building. As in “we are building a building”, ok well I’m making a making.
