No, because firefighters don’t kill people and harrass people unjustifiedly

While they may not kill people, firefighters do harass people, although significantly less than police officers do.

I think the uniform is an interesting factor in behavior, and often people in uniform will act as if their actions have no consequences

Cashiers wear uniforms a lot of the time and they don’t harrass people

I think the green Publix polos are significantly less badass than a police or firefighter’s uniform

Also when a school is on fire the fire fighters don’t tend to stand outside in full gear jerking themselves off doing nothing for an hour.

Pretty sure it's because they've never been fucked over, or been afraid of being fucked over, by firemen.

Not really… people prefer firefighters bc they dont have the opportunity to abuse their power like cops do

My theory is that when police show up, something generally undesirable is happening (ticket, drug bust, domestic abuse etc). A Catastrophic way of thinking.

When EMS show up, even though we appreciate the help they give (rescue breathing on an infant, timely interventions for OD's, etc) we discount those positives and only see the bad situation that caused it in the first place.

Firefighters are seen as the men and women whose deeds are very overt and obvious that we are actively helping (running into the burning building, delivering the baby, helping out a lonely senior whose smoke detector is beeping etc). Despite the negatives, we look for the good in a bad situation.
