But saved countless more since it’s a preservative and we didn’t always have chlorinated running water most places on Earth and light ale (preservation through alcohol) made many jobs impractical.

That's like saying whoever invented the car killed countless people. We make our own choices.

Eh, I mean, I don't really have a lot of autonomy about living in a car-centric society short of living off the land somewhere. But even that probably requires using a car at some point in the journey.

As long as those sugary drinks aren’t marketed towards children then it’s ok.

But who is actually buying the drinks for their kids tho? Parents

Those parents need help fighting the psychological tricks of Billion dollar corporations targeting children.

People have been drinking sugary drinks everywhere in the world throughout recorded history, and probably long before.

The salt to make you thirsty, the sugar to hide the salt and the caffeine to get you addicted. It's a vicious trick to get you to drink more of something that will have a profound impact on your health if you are incapable of self moderation.

How about the person who started the trend of sugar as an ingredient in food? Boy, can't wait for that trend to be over.

Ancel Keys would have a lot to answer for if he was still alive...however there wouldnt actually be many questions because there is so much money in the sugar industry

Now finish that thought. Whoever continues to sell overly sugared drinks even after understanding the negative health effects ... _____________________________.

Seriously though whatever happened to the sugar tax. Weren't they going to initiate/vote/start that a couple years ago and then I just never heard about it again. Sugar, corn syrup etc really is just plain bad for people in consistently large amounts over a lifetime. I would go so far as to say it's more addictive and destructive than nicotine and alcohol. Sugar companies must make hella donations in politics

I’m cutting out soda/sugary drinks from my diet for the 500th time in my life and reminded that there aren’t a lot of options for a healthy drink that isn’t just plain water.

I feel like the person that started putting caffeine in the sugary drinks is the real bad guy here.

Oh believe me, it was very intentional when we started that trend. Reminds me of the good old days
