But it’s not socially accepted. Nobody is saying, “Ooh I love it when someone urinates in the pool so I can swim in their piss!” Unless you’re into golden showers, OP.
Who the fuck told you it was socially acceptable to pee in the pool?
Well, that's one way to look at it! But we'd prefer if you could just use the restroom instead.
It’s not socially acceptable. Stop doing it. It’s disgusting.
Thanks for the heads up so we know not to go swimming with you 😂
Don't be lazy and just whip it out in a bush like the rest of us you savage!
Its not sociable acceptable to pee in the pool though.
Did you k ow the distinct smell of Chlorine in pools come from pee interacting with the chlorine
It's not like it's written down anywhere but I'm pretty sure it is. It might not be acceptable in the sense that people wish it didn't happen, but I think it's acknowledged that it does and will always happen.
Good note about the chlorine smell though, now I know I'm definitely not the only one who also pees in bodies of water.
Acceptable ≠ legal
Acceptable ≠ illegal
Yea thats just not true. Cholrine is a very strong substance and in public pools the potency is stronger. More cholrine than at home and it's constantly maintained. Do you know how much pee would have to be in a pool for it to alter the already intense smell of cholrine?
Scientific test needs done.
Has been multiple times even here
Awesome.
Easy google search also tells this to be true
Send me peer reviewed research, not youtube vids
I dont have anything to prove. See for yourself
Meh. I can't take 1 sided youtibe vids as proof of anything. In this day and age we should be exoecting better info that can be reviewed backwards and forwards.
Okay, you do that.
No it’s not!
It’s not even remotely so!
The ocean is a maybe as long as you don’t have others around you, but a pool?
Noooooooo. It's not. Don't do it. Please. For Christ sake get out of the pool.
Not quite. It is not socially acceptable FOR ANYONE ELSE to pee in the pool...
No and it shouldn’t be. If it’s possible to use a restroom, then that’s the socially right thing to do.
I would accept this premise if people were prone to declaring "I'm peeing in the pool!". People do it because it's not easily detectable, if it were, people wouldn't do it because it actually isn't socially acceptable.
That’s wild. I’ve been told my whole life growing up it wasn’t 🤣 they always remind the kids coming over not to pee in the pool!
This is a friendly reminder to read our rules.
Remember, /r/Showerthoughts is for showerthoughts, not "thoughts had in the shower!"

It's weird because it's clearly not socially acceptable, but I bet you more people do it than not.

I’ve seen a lot of shitposts on this sub lately that are clearly baiting people to react.
My cousin was caught peeing in the pool at camp-- they called my aunt in to discuss it and she was like, "hey, lot's of kids pee in the pool, it isn't a big deal!"
The camp director said, "Sure, I understand that, but most of them don't do it from the diving board."
I... Don't think so? Big reason why public pools have the chemical that turns blue when urine is introduced. It's more an unspoken possibility, where if you can pull it off, you got away with it and didn't have to go through the minor inconvenience of drying off for the bathroom. But I guess same goes for shitting in the ocean.
>public pools have the chemical that turns blue when urine is introduced
This is a myth.
Well shit. I'll take the downvotes as I have learned something new today.

Definitely not socially acceptable, some people just do it anyway
