I used mayflower and I was really happy. They weren’t the cheapest but I got a bad vibe from the cheaper companies. Mayflower did a CT to TX move for me and had almost no damage. For the chair they did damage they reimbursed me fully, no questions asked.

We have used 2 men and a truck. 2 separate times and have been happy with both the price and performance. I forget who the second quote we got was for the Second move but it was like 50-75% more.

That happened to me with piece of cake. It was like $600-$700 to move a 1 bedroom apt from Manhattan to a storage unit in Fairfield county, but now I got the same quote to move 8 miles, and that was with a 10% discount. So like 20-30 miles less and it’s the same price, which still isn’t bad, but still!

Prices of everything have increased since your last move. Plus most of the cost of moving is the labor of moving things into/out of the truck. The distance between locations is negligible. We’re talking about like maaaaybe a 30 minute difference.
