I don't think that is really true or fair. Stamford is one of the safest places in the USA statistically,

I think Stamford is generally pretty safe, but I’d also agree that a lot of crime goes unreported. About a year ago my car window was smashed at ridgeway shopping area. I called the police and the officer pretty much refused to file a report. I would think statistics would be helpful in deciding what areas to patrol, etc.
