We have Optimum and it's probably the worst provider we've had out of many places we've lived. We haven't had any longer outages but it goes out for like 20 seconds all the time and you have to disconnect and reconnect. It might be a router issue but we're using the Optimum-provided router and it's only 8 months old.

I bought my own router and the connection needs to be reset less frequently but still more often than I would like.

Honestly I’m sure this is an unpopular opinion but we’ve been really happy with Frontier

I went from Optimum to Frontier, and despite the negative reviews or whatever, I couldn't be happier. It seemed like I was having an outage on Optimum at least once a week, on top of the speed package being much worse than Frontier.

Apparently most of the rest of the world pays $40/month for internet access. Sheesh.

T-Mobile has a 5G home wifi plan w/ unlimited usage that’s $50 a month and doesn’t fluctuate like Optimum does. The router is really good too. Highly recommend
