What the fuck is up with this light. Why does the light allowing traffic from Market St NEVER change to green? And when it does it lasts for 2 seconds.

I literally just sat at the light trying to make a left onto Canal for SIX MINUTES before I (along with another car and a Stamford city bus) collectively said fuck it and just went through the red. I watched the light in my rearview while driving down canal and it still hadn’t changed.

The pedestrian walk sign just goes from walk > countdown > back to walk again and again.

I usually go through CVS to avoid this but I unfortunately forgot on this occasion.

To make it even better, there’s a ‘no right in red’ sign so technically speaking you’re just trapped there.

Is there someone I can write to about this? Ridiculous.

Literally every light on North State Street.
Stamford sucks with traffic laws. They made the light on exit 9 NTOR because a pedestrian got hit. Since then the traffic there has been back up to the highway. It would be easier to have a flashing light or stop sign. What's stopping pedestrians from getting hit when the light is green?

Sounds like a light with a pressure sensor that you were either too far forward or too far back to trigger.

Also just blow the "no right on red" signs. They're absurdly proliferated to traffic accident stats (which they accomplish in the same way banning cars would).

Stamford traffic signals are the absolute worst all around, especially the ones at 95 along State Street. Way too long for no good reason, always out of sync, and they don’t adjust well to traffic conditions.

Same reason the one at Henry and Pacific is like it is, they are tuned to favor the streets with more traffic.

You can also go up John to get to Dock, the left turn onto Canal is a lot quicker there.

It typically takes me a good 5 minutes to leave Atlantic station, go through the light on north state st, go under 95 and take a left, go through another two lights, and then finally get on 95 (which is maybe a quarter mile away from Atlantic station).

Don't get me started on the potholes on north state getting off exit 7 southbound, either
