Does anyone want a job to help me install a 3in lift kit on a 2002 Toyota 4Runner? I have all the parts I want to install (preassembled front struts, rear shocks, and rear coils). I’d be willing to pay $200 for the job or $50/hr if it goes long. That’s obviously not a professional rate but I’d be helping. I’m a mediocre DIY mechanic and I know how to do the install but it would be my first time so I just need some help. I live off Washington and Hoyt downtown. I know it’s cold, and it might suck but I have been looking for a shop for 5 months and no one will take it since I bought my own parts. We can knock it out in 4 hours. If the shocks are rusty we can have a beer while we’re at it. If no takers, than shop suggestions?

Is this a good suggestion for a general mechanic? I drive a 2003 Toyota and am new to Stamford. Could really use a good solid shop.

I'm down if anything. Do you have all the tools? I'm probably going to be installing a kit on my crosstrek too. You are taking responsibility if anything goes sideways?

I’m going to check pricing with Benny on Monday. If it’s a no go I’ll be hitting you up! Only thing I don’t have would be a tool to cut out shocks if they’re rusty. I’ll find that out on Monday too.

Did you inspect the shocks? If anything use some rust penetrating and a impact wrench to get em off.

The shocks look pretty rusty but I haven’t given them a try so I’m just not sure. I have an impact wrench but I wasn’t sure if that would fit up there. I’ve also sprayed them with penetrating fluid the past couple of weeks in preparation for this job.

I would definitely be taking responsibility if anything goes sideways
