For those wondering why this is uplifting news, Japanese cost of living has risen. Nintendo is doing this so their employees are still keeping up with the rising costs, which should be bloody normal in every company.
But unfortunately it isn't.

Exactly. This should be the standard, it's only uplifting because Nintendo is one of the few corporations that actually treats their employees well.

It's the law here in Belgium. The government keeps an index of the cost of essentials and companies have to index there wages accordingly. How depends per sector but at worst its a once a year increase in January. Or like my own sector its every e months.
