This is one of those times where I’m glad it happened but, I don’t really wanna congratulate the people that did it because up until this point they were making certain people illegal just because of the way they were born. All I can muster is: good first step; keep moving in that direction.

There is a sub for exactly this type of story. Good news that’s only happening because something was really fucked up in the first place. I can’t remember the name rn lol but I will try to find it.

Edit: it was r/orphancrushingmachine

Shout out to u/loversalibi

I would say it isn't orphancrushingmachine, as this is an example of the orphancrushingmachine being stopped

Yeah I guess orphancrushingmachine is more about how people celebrate fixing systemic problems with short term or case-specific solutions instead of fixing the system itself, which isn’t quite this.

It still feels similar because while they are decriminalizing it, they aren’t really fixing the system of oppression because it’s still illegal.

"Decriminalized" makes me think you can now apply for a gay permit. Which I kinda want framed in my house...

I hope they have one. It is the perfect setup for a new porn scenario.

"Sir I'm here to inspect your gay card."
"Oh no! I seem to have lost it!"
"Hm, then how do we know you're actually gay?"
"Well..."

Or any scenario involving an application center or testing center...

Yup, let's get this permit show on the road! That porn ain't gonna make itself!

I’m sorry, but you are not allowed to partake in any activities of a homosexual nature until you’ve renewed your license.

Oh no! But my step bro is from out of country and he doesn't have his gay license! And mine's expired! Can you think of any way to help us?

Imagining having a laminated rainbow card in my wallet

Might even get a discount at a gay bar with it.

To me it sounds like the same thing we in the Netherlands have going for weed.

Possession of small amounts of homosexuality is legal, but not trafficking in homosexuality.

Buddhism generally is just a "be gay idc" religion from what I know
