On Friday, March 17, 2023, the International University of Sarajevo (IUS) invited Benjamin Mehanović, the 12-year-old boy who collected 1,583 KM [$873] by selling tea in Sarajevo and donated it to the people in Turkiye hit by the recent devastating earthquake and awarded him a full scholarship for his future education.

What a thoughtful and compassionate kid! And good on the University for honoring him, and helping him to succeed in life.

This news story has made me feel very happy.

One of those days when I feel that humanity just might make it out of this present world. This dystopian, dark, and corrupt age; and to reach a brighter future if we can extend our current, sorry existence long enough for the new generations to actually change, for the better, what the past generations have broken.

So, they gave him the scholarhip already. When will they give him the rest of the scholarbody?

Jokes aside, wonderful news. I wish him the best in his academic career.

More Universities worldwide should invest in young people with character like this.

Is International University of Sarajevo any good? Private universities in places that have good public education are often crappy...

There's no good public education here. Both are equally crap.

not true, Public university in Sarajevo (UNSA) still holds its credibility

Where did I mention credibility? He said public uni's had good education which I disagreed with. UNSA is ranked 1612 on webometrics while the one in Zagreb is 571. Huge difference in education quality not too far away.

welp, lets forget about the term credibility. As you mentioned UNSA is ranked 1612 while IUS is ranked 3769. You could argue that both are crap comparing to Zagreb 571, but still UNSA is the best you can get in BiH and no matter how good IUS is at marketing, they arent the same.

And that's why I said both are crap. I was raised in Canada and did 2 years of studying abroad in Bosnia. I've been to 2 different Uni's. The difference is miniscule and yet you learn nothing compared to more western universities.
