When countries across the EU have put efforts into rewilding their mammalian populations, they have generally been extremely successful. Very glad to see the trend continuing.

This is truly inspiring. As much as I would like to be one of the first eco tourists there, I believe this is what a zoo should be... a wide open habitat with paid views from nearby live cams in a museum building setting (with photos and man-made artifacts), or seen from afar; fully discounted for educators in public schools. The bearded vultures are not ugly but dinosaur like!

Agreed. Visited a wildlife refuge in my home state of Maryland this past winter and loved it so much I plan on going back every winter. It’s more exciting and rewarding trying to actually spot all the birds yourself. Employees and volunteers are there as guides if you need, but it’s a small fee to drive through and there’s plenty of great trails!

This is a great development. I hope the animals thrive.
