I don’t disagree with this. Puppymills are crap. Petsmart and petco have adoption events every weekend. Visit a shelter. Or use a reputable licensed breeder.

Retail stores are often tied to "puppy Mills". Animal shelter is better option imo

Mixed feelings about this, much more than uplifting.

I hope this gets put into policy everywhere. This will save so many critters from breeding mills, unsafe living conditions, and unnecessary euthanasia.

How is this uplifting? I thought pets helped make people happier.

Reduce the materialistic aspect of buying pets, reducing the ease of profits for unhealthy breeders, pushing people to shelters to adopt rescues more etc etc.

Breeders are too often inhumane. Breed as many as possible, ditch the ones that don’t sell and can’t be used to breed more. My boxer is a rescue, she’s the sweetest thing in the world but is far smaller than healthy for a full grown boxer, and has taken years to not be afraid of everything. Vets say was used for breeding while too young, and likely borderline malnourished the entire time because she existed only to pump out litters of puppies. When she couldn’t anymore, she was abandoned.
