Love stuff like this, but when it's someone doing their government's job for them, it does annoy me.

Yeah and the people in Alabama will vote Republican still and lose medicare and call the idea of universal healthcare evil socialism.

Imagine if there was sort of a plan, you know everyone contributed according to their income, that paid all your pharmacy bills? Wouldn’t,that be cool?
Aalnius t1_j54we47 wrote
Or or hear me out we could instead get you to contribute that bit of your income and then spend it on guns. Guns fix all problems so clearly this is the best solution.

Introducing Stingers™️
When shooting someone isn’t painful enough, our new Stingers™️ bullets are dipped in citric acid to provide that extra burn you need them to feel.

Your comment is likely the actual reason he did it, all the comments about it's the government or republicans fault. Guy didn't give a shit about the government or likely much outside the town, he was doing good to fill a void and to be a good human.
It's not the governments fault or republicans, it's the fact people would rather blame it on them instead of becoming like this man and being the change.

This doesn't belong here. Although a nice gesture, this is completely dystopic. It's horrible that Healthcare is going the way of crowdfunding.

I wouldn't call this uplifting. I'd call it sad that some anonymous donor needs to pay your bill and you may or may not be chosen. Dependency is not good.

There's the end of this headline?
Strappedkaos t1_j58pmhi wrote
Most of the commentary are clueless and missing the entire message! Instead of blaming the government or republicans, do what this man did. He literally showed you all how to fix the problem and not rely on a government entity to do it for you, regardless if the government is doing a good job republican or not. We the people, for the people. If everyone that bitched about someone not doing something decided to do something like this man the country would be a better place.

“The heartbreaks Childress had endured made his philanthropy that much more meaningful to his daughter. He had lost his son, Butch, in 1973. He had also lost his first wife, Peggy, whom he would carry into the stands at local football games because she had multiple sclerosis,” it says here.
This is a remarkable story. Inspiring legacy.
Kudos, and RIP, Mr Childress
