This headline is a bit misleading, they aren't 'rolling out' anything, they're offering a new plan to existing customers, with existing infrastructure.

There are going to be a couple of fiber generations that can be achieved without the need to change fiber cabling in the ground. A fair bit of the capability is about commercializing 5G and 10G fiber modems.
