That's what I did when I first moved here. Ended up in a great house in Ballard with my own bedroom and bathroom for a couple of months before finding my apartment.

WHATEVER YOU DO, DONT MOVE TO WALLA WALLA. Seriously , this town is a complete shithole.

What makes Walla Walla a shithole? I’m just a dude from Vancouver who is genuinely curious

I actually moved here from Vancouver. Biggest mistake of my life! I have been through 5 different toxic workplaces in 1 year, every single buisness in town has tried to rip me off, or outright lied to me about billing, All the companies in town pay much less than anything west of the cascades, everyone stares at you till you look back at them, there is NOWHERE to hike camp or do any outdoor activities, the whole entire area is gentrification by rich wine-chugging hipsters, the cops just pull people over who haven't done anything wrong, and haul them off to jail, even though they can't catch anyone who refuses to pull over. The homeless problem is no better here than it is in the couve, either. I honestly can't wait to get the fuck out of here.

Also, the whole town is old people who depend upon, but are rude as fuck to all the younger folks who work to hold this entire economy up. Fuck this "town"

If you got the gear, or a vehicle you can stay at national parks pretty cheap. You are only allowed to stay for 10 days, then you have to vacate for 3 days. I nearly did this after the union i am with went on strike and i ended up loosing my apartment.

Yea right good luck. Your best bet is to room mate for that little. Be leery of whom you room mate with as you might be getting more than you can chew. Redfin.com is a great too to use for apartment/house hunting. If your seeking room rentals you'll need craig's list (total gamble), nextdoor and other social media places. You're literally placing your self with a gamble in these situations. It could be good, bad or terrible. For one month you're not going to find much. Your best bet is to couch surf with someone if you have family/friends in the area. Rentals are one yr contracts. Yoru best bet is an airbnbs. Though that can be pricy.

Have you considered an extended stay hotel or homeless hotels. They're designed for impoverished individuals that need some where temporary to stay that don't have much money. You must meet certain criteria to qualify for them. Your room mates however won't be of the best clientele but that might be your best option. You have to apply now for them as the wait list is a bit long.

Lol for a second I thought you were OP. It must have been awhile ago.

I love those videos of old guys in NYC talking about how they used to pay ONLY $6000/month rent next to Central Park in the late 1970’s… definitely reminds me of that.
