How long do foxes live? We saw a similar one in 2010! (my first trip to WA before moving here that's why i know the year) But he wasn't as fluffy, it was August or Oct I think. I think I have a photo somewhere ...
edit: changed shaggy to fluffy

I saw a similar looking fox in Paradise area on 9/20/2020. Maybe they come to the area late summer/early fall?

I had no idea such creatures existed here. And, no - I don’t get out much.

Me neither. I've been hiking and camping here all my life and I've never seen a fox.

Saw a very similar looking one on my way up there a few years back. They definitely like to hang by the road because people will feed them.

I wonder if that is a descendant of the fox that would be in the Naranda falls parking lot begging for human food. That dude was cool but also made me kinda sad

It's a Cascade red fox, a subspecies of the red fox. A curious one was checking me out once while I was hiking the PCT on Mt. Adams.
