Weird, I was just thinking about my last trip to the Hoh last night, when I was trying to sleep. Coming out from a three-day backpack, there was a herd of Roosevelt elk right off the trail -- about a dozen of them, like 15 feet away! They knew we were there, but paid no mind.

Saw five enormous elk right at the Hoh Campsite last weekend.
