Amazing place to stay. Never heard of that story until just now. Looked it up and fascinating

It's a very very special place. My first visit was almost 30 years ago and it still blows me away. It's beautiful any time of year.
I remember being there during the Gray and Wet season once. The other side of the lake was barely visible through the drizzle and there was a cloud hanging over the middle of the lake. Very iconic PNW scene.
I haven't been to the restaurant since the Before Times but it always lived up to the view.

Lol, I was already familiar with her story and what the PH balance of the lake can do to one's skin/body...

Are you in a big canoe?

The lake is crystal clear and so clean. It’s cold but it’s super refreshing on a hot day. The Tahoe of the PNW.

Try to swim in the morning. Towards the afternoon the winds can get quite strong and sudden and whip the lake up.

My cousin had her wedding there! It was like drunk summer camp. Funnest wedding I have ever been to.

Yes, we paddled over from the other side of the peninsula in a long boat.

You can also rent kayaks from the lodge if you want to get on the water but not take an ice bath. As pusheenforchange stated, the morning would be better for calmer waters.

Would you say it's colder than Lake Chelan? Even when it's 95 degrees in Chelan, the lake can take your breath away in late spring. Just curious...

We stayed in one of the rustic cabins for an anniversary. Food at the Lodge was so good we didn't mind not having any other places nearby. Took their sack lunches up Storm King one day and Pyramid Mtn the next. Next time Id love to try some boating.

Haha! I used to paddle those around. This is a hilarious comment.

It was shockingly cold in late April so I'd guess probably close to Lake Chelan temp wise

That's good to know since I'm in the midst of planning our anniversary.
