I've had the same feeling many times.

One day I was driving over the Tacoma Narrows bridge. It was approaching golden hour and there was a bit of wind. Where the water was smooth it was gold but where it was choppy it was blue. There was large area of both colors but also some interpenetration. It was really lovely and it struck me that I'm seeing this wonderful sight just going about my business.

Or the time we were walking around Green Lake in Seattle. Everyone was watching some event except us. A bald eagle swooped down and grabbed a fish. It felt like our own private show.

Wouldn’t that mean that you were also watching an event?

This time of year makes me so damn emo. I moved out at 18 and joined the military, and now I can't afford housing in the place I was born :^)

I grew up in So Cal and been here since 2006 now. I still can't get over that it's like living in a city in a forest. So Cal is just ugly concrete. Love it up here.

I lived in Chino Hills and got mornings that looked like this every now and then. Smelled like cow shit though and everywhere else was pretty devoid of natural life. Especially compared to WA.

Right? I love waking up in my tiny, cramped overpriced studio apartment, going downstairs, opening the door to the outside, stepping over the homeless man passed out on the doorstep with a needle in his arm, walking quickly to my car hoping that it hasn’t been broken into, then driving down nicer, richer suburban roads to get these kind of views.
