Anyone have insight/advice on owning exotics and renting? I am worried about apartments because I’m having issues with mine currently having been previously fine with my exotics and now they aren’t. I have 2 geckos, a chinchilla and a rat. I have a feeling I’ll need to rent a house but that’s a world I’m not sure how to navigate. I’m looking at the Tacoma area currently. Any thoughts?

I just got an apartment in Seattle and it specifically said no Ferrets, kinda odd. I’m sure most have rules or they’ll make you pay a pet deposit. It also said no more than two pets and didn’t want certain dog breeds. Just depends on the place.

I guess you’ve never smelled a ferret.

I think I’ve seen some on leashes at the park in SF. Don’t know much about them, I found it odd like why ferrets especially but apparently they reek?

Yeah I think most are very specific because rodents and such can be damaging but it’s just very difficult due to already owning these animals trying to find somewhere that could possibly take them

The place I picked said no pets at all, I was shocked because Washington is so pet friendly usually. I would look at only places allowing pets and ask what their rules are on animals in tanks right away. Good luck!
