I just wanna say that I love living in a state that's just crammed full of mountains from one end to the other, but there's still one that's so singular that everyone simply refers to it as "The Mountain" and literally everyone knows exactly which one you're talking about.

I always loved coming out first thing in the morning for PT and seeing the mountain. Then the smell hit.

The "Longbow" (nicknamed the "Cheesewheel" by our Soldiers)- a type of fire control radar that enables the aircrew to track over 200 targets at once (within approximately 30 miles of the aircraft).

Used to run a route that included delivering to the commisaries on base, used to love some of the early morning views from jblm. I live in Puyallup so it's not like I'm far from the mountain but something always just hit a little different with the view on base for some reason.

Can’t really see the mountain with all those war machines in the way.

I think those Apaches are just as beautiful as the mountain. And I love Mt Rainer.

And without them, you’d never be able to safely enjoy the mountain :)
