La Rustica, West Seattle & Captain Whidbeys outside Coupeville.
Ok, romantic was your must have and I don't recall if it fit that bill or not, but the best Italian food I've ever had was at Il Terrazzo Carmine. A boss took me there for lunch like ten years ago and assuming it's still as tasty as it was. The entrance was in Post Alley and it was, to me, a hidden gem. Some fancy priest was in there, with the full garb on, and people kept approaching his table like he was a celebrity.
Canlis
Maximilien or Place Pigalle are both really good and pretty romantic.
San Fermo in Ballard (delicious food, intimate setting, great service).
seconded on Place pigalle: italian restaurant in the heart of pike place market, really intimate setting, took my now wife there right before i proposed. best meal i’ve ever had.
French. Congrats!
youre right! french. its been a while lol. Still the best meal ever
I wasn’t impressed the time I went, but maybe I shouldn’t generalize from a single visit. My steak was gristly and overcooked
El Gaucho and order Bananas Foster for desert. Flaming bananas at tableside.
Zero chance you get a reservation this Thursday.
Can you really say you love someone if you haven’t seen them eat a bag of Dicks?
I haven't been in a while :( I had a good time there but darn!
I didn’t mean to rain on your parade! I did consider maybe I should keep my opinion to myself. Maybe it was an off day. They do have nice views and Tacoma is somewhat lacking in fine dining establishments, I assume because of its proximity to the big city
Serafina off Eastlake Av.
I think you mean “The Oyster Bar”
Unpopular Opinion: Never waste money on pasta. It’s 5¢ worth of box pasta and canned sauce from some shitty Cisco or FSA food truck. And fuck Bizarros. They’re just as shitty but with crappier service and a 20% mark-up. If you want pasta, set the table, light candles, and whip it up yourself.
Over the Moon in Tacoma
Ah, no I appreciate it regardless.
I've always been fond of Bizarro Italian Cafe in Wallingford. Quirky, cute and the food is great!
You can do the opposite and take them to Dick's in Spokane, if necessary.
The facilities are a nightmarish fever dream.
Recoils and shudders in Ryan Reynolds.
Doc Maynard on Bainbridge Island. A romantic ferry ride and short walk from dock thru picturesque Winslow. Seafood is first rate.
Stanley and seaforts used to be good. Though my understanding it has gone downhill.
Romantic and Italian? Spinasse is a must. One of my top ten restaurant in the area.
If you're ok not doing Italian, Flintcreek in Greenwood is also incredibly good.
That is a remarkably bad opinion. If you're going to a good Italian place around Seattle, they make it all from scratch, including the pasta.
San Fermo is so lovely. It’s very intimate indeed but it’s also in a great area too to walk around afterwards or before the dinner
Okay wow, replied to your comment above because I wholeheartedly agree but also was going to comment here to say Spinasse. They have a small menu, but it’s so thoughtfully created. They’re the only place I know here who makes such thin and elegant pastas. They’re simple but extremely WOW. I’m always impressed whenever I go there. They have great cocktails and great romantic ambiance too (if seated in their main dining room)
Months in advance, for sure. Next year!
go here. great foods. civilized dining. atmosphere. romance.
possibly a cat in the back of the house, keep the mousies at bay.
