I’ve always wanted Index to actually exist. Like, a few bars or something.

I mean, does the Sand Bar count lol? Maybe they can claim the Espresso Chalet too?

Speaking of the Sand Bar, I miss Index Cafe! I've never eaten at the Sand Bar, but I did love chicken fried steak & eggs at Index Cafe.

Came here to make the Gold Bar comparison although tbh Gold Bar has some great early 20th c. architecture.

I lived here for a while. my mom was the 1 and only postal worker in the town (the post office is inside Ms.Kim’s store) and it is beautiful and a wonderful place to live. I was sad when I moved away.

Just depends on what you Leavenworth in a town. I personally can’t Bellevue that more people don’t know about the beauty of such a Plain town.

Pun aside, grew up doing 4th of July there as Uncle Bobby had one of the 2 dozen houses next to the river. Fond memories of laying coins on the train tracks and then hunting for them after a train came through, making the long hike to lookout point, and hearing the booms of fireworks ripping through the valley. I still drive through occasionally, beautiful town.

Concrete still tops it for me but we inherited my late grandpa's property out there. Grew up going to that property every weekend til Nanna died. Now I'm trying to restore it and get solar panels installed to move out there myself.
