Does this really count as underground though?

I’ve been inside and can say it’s not really underground.

I mean I guess technically there is "ground" on top of it, haha.

Asphalt is a very common material made for roofing material, as well as the “ground” does that mean most houses are underground?

There's clearly ground on the top, what's the problem? /s

The property is situated on 6 acres along the Columbia River Gorge with plenty of hiking and exploring opportunities. A breathtaking mountainside surrounds this inspiring dwelling. You will be captivated by the spectacular views and the iconic round doorway that frames them.

I hate to be ‘that person’ but this photo is misidentified in the original source. This house is located at Brothers Greenhouse in Kitsap County. It’s local to me and a fave spot of my kid’s, so I recognized it. I’ve got a bunch of photos of it myself, it’s tucked away in the back of the nursery behind the greenhouses, and the owners decorate it for different holidays. It’s small, but the perfect size for a kid to explore.

Came here to say this was at brothers! Was surprised how OP says it’s on the Columbia River gorge. - it definitely is not. Just went and saw this again a couple weeks ago. I love getting my plants from brothers. There is even electricity on the inside the hobbit house :)

here is a legit article about the hobbit house

Yeah, I’ve lived in the Columbia River Gorge for many many years and think I would heard about it.

"Misidentified " Yeah, right. You are being too kind. It's a lie.

Thanks- I try to give the benefit of the doubt, especially since OP’s history doesn’t lead me to believe they may actually live in our state
