What’s with the increase in posts asking if entire towns are safe for a person to enter?

It’s not like you’re going to Tijuana.

Just go, they’ll love it.

i wanted to visit forks but then read how a family was chased and trapped because some weirdos thought they were “liberals/antifa.” not every place is safe for everyone and that’s just reality. sundown towns still exist, etc.

I’ve been chased down on bike and trapped for the same thing in Seattle.

Dangerous assholes are everywhere. The only way to avoid them is to go nowhere. Even then… bump keys render your lock useless, all of your shit is flammable, and windows are shitty barriers. Then only reason you aren’t murdered every single day is because 99.999999999% of people in the country don’t want to hurt you… that’s reality.

And if you really want to stay safe while traveling just make sure you don’t bring anyone you know with you because being murdered by a stranger is incredibly ridiculously rare…

Are you a liberal or Antifa member? Why be worried if your not. And just because someone is liberal doesn't make them Antifa Just saying as I am not a fan of any groups

Stereotypes aren’t good. It was the exception not the rule.

Leavenworth’s fine. It’s a bustling tourist/ski town and not the 300 resident conservative logging town from 1815 you might be picturing. It has a Bavarian-styled mcdonalds, bro. You guys will be fine

None of those in Washington—it wasn’t even part of the US until 1846!

Well, yeah, but people were logging unincorporated territories since before then. You know what I mean though. It’s not small or disconnected enough to be that conservative

What? No, a lot of mountain towns are conservative because they’re rural. Leavenworth just (culturally) isn’t rural. I didn’t say anything about the politics of the thing

I don’t get how you can type out a comment like this and think “mainstream media propaganda” is why somebody would hesitate before visiting Central WA

If you don't want your kids to go to a drag show brunch, don't bring them to a drag show brunch. I don't know how much easier that is. Just like I wouldn't bring my kids to church. You do you boo boo, but you don't get to tell other parents what to do with their kids.

You think you get to dictate what activities parents can take their own kids to??? You're the delusional one. You want to homeschool your kids because you're afraid of the "liberal agenda" in public schools, go ahead. You want to take your kid to church every Sunday, go ahead. And if I want to take my kids to a drag show brunch and the public library every weekend, I have that right. That's what this country is about. Freedom for all, not just white, conservative Christians. You don't like freedom? Go move somewhere fascist so you can be amongst your own kind.

Because transphobes tend to be conservative. You sure proved it with this comment.

Contrary to what you may think, nobody’s out to get you. Just go and have fun.

It's a fine question to ask. I've been to plenty of small towns where I would not be comfortable holding hands with my fiance.

That being said, Leavenworth should be fine. It is a tourist town.

Lol this is like the opposite of the conservative guy who’s afraid to go to Seattle. I would be willing to bet that you’d be safer in all the small towns of Washington than many parts of Seattle. Just go have fun and eat some kraut you dope.

So long as you spend money and don't impede anyone else from spending money Leavenworth will welcome you with open arms regardless of who you are.

It is a tourist town, they've probably seen all different kinds of folks. You're probably more likely get transphobia from other tourists.

My dtr and I visited when she was VERY early in her transition (so looked very much like a male though she was dressing as a woman), and we had zero issues including when using a public bathroom (she went into the women's).

For all the people commenting here about it being fine as long as you don't dance around naked... going to public restrooms as a non-gender conforming person is stressful. And I'm not even trans. Do a single one of you who commented have a trans friend or family member? If you do, and make comments like that, you're 100% part of the problem.

MOONDAYHYPE t1_j0unt6u wrote

Lol...... The "hate" towards trans people is make believe, all spun up by liberal mainstream media to create more divisiveness and demonize conservative people.
