Gold color on this interactive map is a High Wind Warning. For details from NOAA open the map, zoom in (or do Menu > Search), click the map and a popup will appear. Scroll the popup. If you see more than one link then look below each link. One of the links will lead to the details for the high wind warning.

Our neighborhood near Redmond WA is expecting wind gusts to 55mph. We do have a good generator so if the power goes out it is inconvenient but not that huge of a deal. I just hope our cable internet keeps working.

If this is the first time you are seeing any of the GIS maps I post, then note the “Map tips” link in the upper left corner. The map can do a lot of stuff it you take a few minutes and learn how to use it.

I spoke with a friend who just moved to Ocean Park. She says the winds outside have been scary at times. Their high is 35mph today and all she asks for is that the 101 stay open in that area.

Good luck!

35 is not a high wind. I’d let your friend know that there is occasionally much higher wind than that, annually for sure.

Belfair is really windy and I'm sure trees will come down since the ground is so saturated .

Drove from Vancouver to seaside today and trees were coming down all over hwy 26. We got stuck at mile post 18 because the road was closed going west due to a triple fatality and then in the time it took us to turn around a tree came down behind us. Took almost eight hours instead of two.

Sounding a little crazy outside in Spokane. Reminds me of the fall/winter windstorms the westside would have. Hoping the power doesn’t go out.

We live just a bit NE of downtown Redmond. Had some brief wind while eating supper yesterday and that was it. I just looked at the PSE outage map. Largest area where the power is out is along I-90 from Preston going east.
