5 seems to be the one that might fit this quandary but I also feel like crowd sourcing an answer for a question of this evocation is justifiable. Internet’s gotta internet.

Where are you from, where are you staying, have you been before, what do you like doing, do you drink, are you with anybody, etc, etc?

This question seems to have triggered the downvote lords. Is getting around the state tricky? For context, I’m coming from Tx.

Depending on where you're staying, and what you're doing you may or may not need to rent a car.

If you're staying in the city then you can probably skip the car rental

If you're wanting to see some of the beautiful areas around here I'd recommend getting a car.

They're asking whether you'll have a car or not. You coming from Texas doesn't really give any context.

Coming from the south of the US. I’m in my late 30’s. Don’t drink but don’t mind the night life. I will be traveling with my partner. I’ve been to Seattle once before but I want us to really explore what Washington, in general, (willing to take a day trip somewhere exceptional) has to offer. Would love to immerse ourselves in some way.

EDIT : Might have access to a car, but outside of that, we’ll probably be moving around as tourists do. We’ll be there next week!

All assuming you’ll have a car:

  • Take a ferry a drive a loop around the peninsula. A few of the many good places for a stop: Hurricane Ridge, Kalaloch, Port Townsend.
  • If you’re here after April or so, do the cascade loop (https://www.cascadeloop.com/).

We have a handful of scenic byways, take your pick! https://stateofwatourism.com/scenic-byways/

If you’re here in April, consider visiting the arboretum for all kinds of beautifully flowering trees.

Also think about walking on to a ferry downtown, going to Bainbridge and walking into Winslow. Go have fish and chips at the Harbor Public House.

The glass museum is cool. A day walking around Pike place market and the aquarium is fun. The superwheel is pretty iconic and of course the space needle. Visit the Freemont Troll. There is a pop culture museum that was fun and there is a tour of the tunnels… make sure there is nothing in your vehicle to tempt thieves and be prepared to pay for parking, admission fees and for goods at the market. Enjoy the coffee and the wine and the local microbrews. Seattle has great fusion cuisine and friendly people. I always buy an umbrella when I visit Seattle even though I grew up in the PNW and almost never use it. It’s just a thing in my family. Take lots of pictures and talk to the locals.
