Ok, I'm old. I vaguely remember dad and I traveling to the Spokane worlds fare in 1974 from Seattle. We drive, and drive. Well, it is time to camp or whatever. Hotel room? Well no. Campsite? Well no. We pull down a dirt road off the highway. At 7:30 Am me at 13 is negotiating with some pissed off landowner suggesting that dad and I GTFO his property...

A day later. I think I remember a fricking ferry. We took the ferry. Then immediately rented a room... Like steps off the ferry. Any old fucks can provide any info. Thanks.

My husband says there was one near Umatilla back in the day. (He is 76 and was in WA in the late 80s).

The Seattle World's fair was in 1962 not 1974.

This is the only ferry service on the Columbia river that I’m aware of.

I would think this would be the Keller Ferry as someone mentioned above. It’s in Ferry County. The two closest towns on hwy 21 are Keller and Republic.

There used to be a ferry on the Columbia River where Vernita Bridge is now. My father remembered taking it to visit his sister when he was a teenager in the early 60s.
