Any recommendations for an installer and seller in this area and best guess to cost for a newer model stove( auto feeder and temp control because I am a noob and grew up with gas heat). I know there is a tax rebate for specific types and I want to utilize that as well.

I am finding that the companies on a Google search that do list their prices are really high (6k) and minimal reviews so I don't know what I am getting into or if it will be worth it.

Tractor supply has them from 2.5k and under but then I don't know how to install an existing flue /permit requirements... I really prefer not to either.

Any experiences and recc are welcome so that I know what to expect and what to look for when buying and hiring someone for this is appreciated!

Try Enchanted Fireside in Worcester. I haven't bought from them but they have serviced my stoves and were pretty good.

One of those $5000+ pellet stoves from QuadraFire or Harman can probably last you about 20+ years. One of the Home Depot/Lowe's $1500 stoves will probably last a lot less, require more frequent repairs, and is probably unsightly (Just a rectangular box type unit).

Enchanted fireside is great. They installed my natural gas fireplace and have done 1 maintenance on it too.

IIRC I got the stove in 2019 for around $4-5k with everything installed.

Was the install done in 1 day?

Yes and no. The stove was installed in 1 day but because it's natural gas I had to have a plumber make that connection on another day and then enchanted came back to start it.

I imagine with pellet stove you could be done in 1 day. I also had an existing chimney that they installed a new chimney/ cold air intake in. I don't know your situation there.

We have an existing chimney on the first floor ,the basement has a spot to connect for some reason the previous owner didn't use one down there. The inspection said we should be able to hook up there. I'll give them a call this week and see if I can swing by the floor room to see their models, thank you!

Feens Country Living in Fitchburg. They've been around as long as I can remember, so they must be doing something right. They're not far off of exit 98 or rt 2 , so pretty easy access.
