Might be. I visited New Haven back when Pepe's and Modern were the big shots so I haven't tried Sally's yet.

Modern is still my favorite of the New Haven joints. I went to school there and it was a go-to

All of the big new haven spots are really great. I may have my preference but I wouldn't turn down any of them. The top spots are Pepes, Sally's, Modern, Bar, and my personal favorite Zuppardis (though Zuppardis is west haven)
