Rutland by Whitehall pond, they connect to the rail trail a bit past Rutland state park. Very cool little road/trail network

I don’t know about gnarly, but if you get on the central Mass Rail Trail in Rutland it’s very bike friendly and goes for a long distance.

I was just going to say that. Rutland state park is very close to my house and there are some awesome trails that go around the pond and all through the state park. Just make sure to have your phone with gps because ita easy to get lost and unfortunately the cell service is not the best. I reccommend using google maps and you can download a map that works when your offline. Works perfect and i promise you that you can ride this arwa day after day and find new trails routes everytime. At least for a few weeks thats is lol. Enjoy. If you need anymore info dm me ill send you a map or cordinates.

I lived in Rutland for a little while, and my apartment was right off Main Street near the post office. I could hike all those trails from home, all the way to the ruins of Rutland Prison camps into Oakham and Barre. I think if you go all the way to 122 in Barre the Ware River rail trail goes further north. It’s such a vast and beautiful expanse in a largely unrecognized part of the state - a true hidden gem!

Yup i live in the Barre Oakham line and i have hiked and rode many of those trails for 20 years and it never gets boring. So many beautiful sights and animals that you come across. Glad you were able to enjoy it too.

Leominster State Forest. Vietnam in Hopkinton. Trout Brook in Holden. Sutton State Forest. West Hill Dam. Goat Hill. There’s a LOT more than that, Trailforks and NEMBA are your friends.

West Hill Dam in Uxbridge is super fun. It’s right next to Goat Hill which has more technical trails. Have fun!

Haven’t seen no biking signs there, but Green Hill Park has a pretty extensive system of marked and unmarked single track with lots of cool rock gardens and boulders. Ride on!!

Leominster state forest is great. Town farm hill in barre is one of my other favorites. Mass central rail trail doesn’t have much for actual mountain biking but it’s good for distance as well as the prison camps which are connected to it. Download Trailforks and it will show you the best spots.
