Chess clubs/groups

I just started learning how to play chess, I thought it might be nice to meet up with others in the area who play as well. Are there any currently active groups that meet up to play in the area?

There’s a group that meets Sunday mornings at Acoustic Java behind Rotman’s. I’m not sure of the exact time

Acoustic Java's group meets between 11am and 1pm on Sundays.

Yes, I’m a beginner as well, about 1000 on chess.com. There are some strong players but are also good sports. Just let them know. I’ve only made it a few times: nice atmosphere, very good coffee and lunch options.

There's a fun, casual group that meets at the White City Panera in Shrewsbury, Fridays 4 - 7. I'll be there tomorrow, hope you can join in :)
