I'm newer to the area and need a recommendation for a reliable mechanic.

My car was making a knocking noise under the dashboard on the passenger side for a while. I want able to afford to take my car in. The knocking noise is no longer happening. But now every time I turn right, especially circling right on an on-ramp, my car suddenly says "oil pressure low, turn off engine". This goes away as soon as I stop turning. But as of yesterday I feel like my gas gauge is rapidly going down. I only drove about 25min and my gas gauge has gone from half a tank to empty.

My check engine light isn't on. Change oil light is not on.

I do home work sessions for kids with autism and need to be able to drive from Worcester to Westborough several days a week. This is just really stressful, I need to be able to get to work, and I could just use some help finding a reliable mechanic.

Thanks!

Please check your oil immediately or you may be out a car.

I checked and at the time I had about 25% oil.

If you go to Westborough often, Paul at Paul’s Auto Repair is a very honest mechanic. Also in regard to your low oil pressure display, it will say that if you’re taking a turn and your oil level is low. I would immediately (like, yesterday) check your oil and add some before driving the car any real distance.

Do you have enough oil in your car? You might want to check, it sounds low.

Stacy Repair in West Boylston is good and fair

At the time I posted this I had about 25% oil left in the vehicle. I'm the type of person who usually waits until my car tells me "oil level low" to take it in. I've never experienced what's going on right now.

The oil level low sensor should never go off. Not sure what you drive but it sounds like it burns oil. Check it with the dipstick, it's easy and I'm sure you can find a youtube video on how.

What do you mean 25% oil left? The dashboard display reads like that? If so that's based on how long you've had the current oil and how many miles, nothing to do with the quantity of oil in the engine.
