Lmao thought the same thing. I think my homie Phil is doing a show in his basement.

WPD isn’t on the guest list though.

I mean if people are giving out the exact info of places on the down low that’s one thing, but a place like the firehouse literally has a website and social media accounts.

If a place can keep the music in the basement noise won't be a major issue. Where you get problems with the neighbors is when the attendees park willy nilly all over the nearby streets and irritate them by using up scarce street parking... especially when you block someone's driveway.

I get what ur saying but I’m not a cop lol. I’m 18 :/ And I said it SEEMS like the scene has died down bc the most recent stuff I could find about the firehouse online was from like 2016, and I’ve seen other people talking abt how it’s died down a bit too.

Also the firehouse and other collectives have websites etc, and no one is saying their addresses on Reddit… I was just hoping for some more recent info lol

Firehouse FB page: https://www.facebook.com/firehouseworcester/

They are listing shows.

The addy is 126 Eastern Ave. Go up Belmont St. from the police station/UMass Memorial and the turn is on your right across from the Belmont vegan/vegetarian restaurant. (Which is very good btw)

I wasn’t asking for an address! I agree that it shouldn’t be posted online like that.

Their street address is public my friend. No harm done.

Zero worries. I am mostly psyched to see your post in the first place. Worcester needs a new generation of punks making music. I was one......once. :(

Did you get excommunicated from the scene for this kind of behavior and that's why you are no longer one. My guess would be, yes.

This is a very public forum and even if you are not a cop, you should practice more caution than this. ...there is plenty of reason it hasn't been updated since 2016. Also, dipshits in this thread posted street names, etc. It happened in boston. There is hardly any basement shows out there anymore and everytime they do set one up, some pig with pretty much the exact same termanology and methods that you are performing here; slides in to reddit and dms trying to find info and location. This is absolutely dangerous and your lack of regard is concerning. ...officer.

Completely idiotic post. The Firehouse is Google able. Yeah I guess cops can Google. Wow.

There's other show spaces out there. The fact that yall only know what means that AT LEAST SOME OF US know the rules. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

When I was in the "scene" it was just that. Welcoming and chill. You seem like a cliquester. Very "punk" of you.

Cool_Bet_9093 OP t1_isao4f7 wrote

Is this the part where you expect me to make a list of reasons why I'm a valid punk and more punk than you?

Okay, I will bite.

  1. I have never used the word "cliquester"

Fin.

Itchy_Rock_726 t1_isaph3h wrote

I definitely, absolutely, don't expect anything of substance from a snide cliquester like you. Joe Strummer is spinning in his grave reading this.

Cool_Bet_9093 OP t1_is6xgg7 wrote

Reminder that one time a local news reporter went to one of these spaces and interviewed some folks there, only to publish a shitty article about how illegal and commune-like it was...the next thing they knew they had all sorts of authority showing up, had to pull some strings and get legal messes sorted out, and while all of this was unsure and up in the air, folks living there were concerned about not only losing their home but also a strong little community they built from the ground up. Being that things in this city have to be coded and licensed, maybe just shut the fuck up on the internet.

Also ralphs ain't letting in anyone under 21, don't care if you order a water. It's a bar.

Ask a punk or GTFO

There literally isn’t a punk scene anymore though. It’s dead, and this is a valid question

Also you’re are vastly overestimating how much cops actually give a fuck about things that aren’t shoved onto their desk

I get the “fuck the police” thing but this is just stupid IMO

Like lines of confiscated drugs, faking overtime, and napping in cars?

Seekay2022 t1_is7kr2y wrote

A long time ago I learned that cops have a phrase for the napping in cars thing. "Cooping." Yes, it's part of the vernacular. Unreal. When you see a squad car parked out of the way in some alley and are like WTF... they're cooping. An actual internal slang word for slacking off. Of course they'd say getting much needed rest. On their shift. Uh huh. Rest on the details maybe guys?

Crazy world.
