Yes, it's normal. Unless you're stuck blocking a major road or on the highway, it's not considered a high priority.

Never had that happen to me. Usually about an hour wait has always been typical in my experience. I think it depends more on the towing service than AAA themselves though.

My experience is mixed. I've had to wait hours and hours for them sometimes, and other times they show up in under 15 minutes. I think they only allow 4 tows a year, which is usually fine, but it was a problem this year.

This is the first time I have ever needed a tow. AAA sent a text saying they would lmk when a tech was coming over. Do they actually do that? I waited 2 hours in my car before I said screw it I'll wait for the text inside

All depends on the type of tow, the time of day, where you are, etc.

Two weeks ago, my battery died while I was in a parking garage in downtown Boston. It only took ~30 min because they were able to send a regular service truck with a portable jumper pack instead of an actual tow truck. Had I needed a tow, they said it would've taken a lot longer.

If anyone else stumbles on this it's important to call in because they forgot about me and I could have been waiting all night.

Nah. Only time I've had to wait for more than an hour for a wrecker was in a blizzard. I guess maybe I just get lucky? Or maybe we just have better tow companies outside of the city.

When I've needed to call AAA in the past two years, it always takes FOREVER for someone to be routed to me (even if the call itself is simple).

It's worth it to call back if you've been waiting a long time and get a new ETA.
