I have 2 bedroom in Webster. It’s not vacant and I charge $1300, it’s across the street from the lake and has a legal third tiny bedroom. I can’t justify more of a rent increase when the latest gov report says I should be charging $1600+
New cabinets. Fresh paint. New floors. 2 driveways.

It’s honestly enough to make me “unalive” myself. I have a good job with full benefits. Making about $55K before OT and differential. I’m waitlisted for nursing school, so this is the salary I’m stuck with for the next few years. I make too much on paper to qualify for any kind of assistance. Im single and live with a roommate.
I can’t do it any more. I don’t know what to do. Something has to change. The state needs to open their pockets to middle income residents, even if it’s temporarily.

Small towns aren't even that cheaper for renting. The best you can do for a 2 bedroom right now is 1500 and that's for an absolute shit hole.
But that extends in all directions. There was no "oh, it's an hour commute but it's cheaper. It's just an hour away and still 1.5k a month.
