“The office's Fair Labor Division began investigating the Westford Group after a minor employee filed a complaint alleging that they were required to work more than 10 hours per day.”

Well done 👍

I think you could probably find a plethora of labor violations in a vast majority of restaurants, and I've worked for some sleazy assholes in my day, but everybody knows you don't mess with minors' scheduling restrictions.

This doesn't surprise me, really. When I worked there decades ago, the one I was at was so desperate for a closer, they had one of the underaged teens closing the place. It seems like this is a rule they were willing to bend/break as needed, until they got caught.

Probably because an underage worker is less likely - for various reasons- to complain about it , especially to make a formal complaint - glad this one did. 👍

A 13 year old was taking orders at a location near Woburn. Never saw someone that young working the register before.

A lot of these rules really limit the options kids like some I know here in Worcester who have to work to support themselves and/or their families. Some places don't enforce the rules, and some of the kids skirt the rules by having a couple jobs.

Did you walk to work uphill both ways?

No. At the first one, I would take a bus for 45 minutes, and then after closing one of the managers would give me a lift home (it was always a struggle for them tho). Once I was old enough to drive alone, I was then able to afford a car, because, I worked, it was a beast of a 1979 Chevy Nova, but back then gas was reasonably priced.

This headline should read Maura Healey does something a week before the election. She spent her term as AG letting illegal criminals out the back doors of our courts so they can continue with crimes like murdering two innocent doctors or wasting our tax dollars suing the federal government but a week before the election this comes out. Good for them for acting on this but I’ll bet it could have been announced a month ago.

Really? I’m not angry or throwing a tantrum. Seems your problem is you can’t tolerate any opinion except your own. For what it’s worth since I’ve live in MA we’ve had Weld, Cellucci, Swift, Patrick and Baker. R, R, R, R, D, R.

I'm skeptical she's worried about the election

She should be. Unlike legislators our Governorship is always a toss up.

Diehl is too far right, and not touching 40%

FishermanPrize t1_iumisw1 wrote

Yeah given the current layout of ma that isn't the case this year and the fact that you think that makes me think you live in a hyper conservative reality bubble

I guess we’ll see.

Wow, you’ve been waiting to rub this in. What a sad life.

Wow you think it's about rubbing it in?

Nah dude it's to really emphasize the fact that you live in a hyper conservative bubble and that your perception is heavily biased by it.

You know absolutely nothing about me. And I don’t think of you at all.

Right, that's why you seriously thought she was gonna lose lmfao. You had to be getting that idea from somewhere

Diehl has a chance of winning as much as I have a chance of shitting out a gold brick. Enjoy your new Governor Healey.
