because cars go flying up my street at 10+mph over the speed limit and I don't feel at all bad about making them have to slow down.

Agreed. But as a pedestrian, on streets without sidewalks, I hate having to walk right down the middle of the road during leaf season.

Well sure, people drive like maniacs, which is awful. But I don't think that the potential for a head-on collision because someone decided to dump half a tree onto the street for the better part of a month is the best solution, as opposed to a speed bump

As someone who lives on a very popular cut through that saves you 10 seconds of waiting at a red light. I wholeheartedly agree with you. People fly down my street like it's a quarter mile in Fast and Furious.

I also had $6k worth of damage done to my parked car by a hit and run driver. Probably would have a minor dent if they werent going 40mph(caught it on my dash cam).
