I'm looking to get a wide variety of fun soda for a gift. Doesn't need to be novelty sodas, just different kinds of root beer or grape sodas, for example. Do you know of any places that sell interesting soda in the area?

Sometimes That’s Entertainment has interesting sodas in their cooler by the registers. Otherwise if you want to make the drive to Natick, the mall has a store called Lolli and Pops where you can find both novelty and lesser known sodas.

World Market is fantastic. They're the only folks I see carrying Walkerton spice rubs / marinades for jerk chicken - which is what they use at Scotchies in Jamaica. They're also the best for finding weird desserts too.

Big Y on Mayfield St. carries Harmony Springs. They have up to 20 varieties of soda and seltzer including sarsaparilla and most other types you'd think to find.

They are in a wooden box display on the register side between chips and sodas.

Grab some Moxie. Definitely unique to New England. Also Cracker Barrel, of all places, has what you're looking for. The closest one is in Sturbridge.

Wholesome Farmers Market in Barre

Weird and eclectic soda mix. Also check out the Asian Market near Mill Street, they have weird chips flavors- bet they have unique sodas.

Okay as insane as this sounds imperial gas station out in Mendon seems like the least interesting thing but I swear it has everything you could want! When you get there it advertises interesting treats, toys, & sodas a lot and it kinda seems like it’s a lie but then you walk in and it’s maybe the most amazing thing I’ve ever seen, for a gas station in Mass that is.

Shaw's in Shrewsbury had about 7 or 8 kinds of root beer the last time I checked there, although it's been a little while. Your standard IBC, Virgil's, Stewarts, Jones, but also a few brands I hadn't heard of.

oh my god, you GOTTA get to the Asian Supermarket on Mill Street. they have plenty of interesting soft drinks with unique flavors, you just might not be able to read all the labels (unless you're multilingual!) be prepared to find fruit soda labeled with pictures of boy bands you don't recognize

It's a trek, but I love Hosmer Mountain Soda in Willimantic, CT. https://hosmersoda.com/

Very old family owned soda company that sterilizes and reuses their glass bottles and has a lot of fun old school flavors. I know some grocery stores have them so maybe they are available somewhere closer but you might have to call and ask.

Lilis glass shop or really any Asian shop has the most different sodas I’ve ever seen. I got peach Canada Dry ginger ale and Tropical Mix Sprite there for example
