I'd also very much like to learn more about this.

I'm willing to bet that it's basically the same as the household income map...

Go to Verizon website and type in your address. It will tell you what’s available. I can only access internet not Fios tv apparently

I wonder if they still require a huge access panel drilled into the side of your home? It looks like a huge zit.

I am not sure this will tell you where the new zones are for FiOS as there is no indication that the new zones are actively deployed and released yet (if they are not then this approach does not work). Do you know that it has?

Previous discussions sounded like Webster Square area is on the early side of the rollout.

FCC is still relying on older data, but if you look at fixed broadband and filter (in the settings) to only show Fiber you can see where the existing FIOS connections are in nearby towns. I would guess they are working their way in from existing coverage areas in Shrewsbury and Millbury: https://broadbandmap.fcc.gov/home

I wonder if there's any chance that with the Spectrum contract expiring in October of next year, Worcester might possibly allow Verizon to connect to Spectrum's fiber optic network in downtown that's currently just for businesses.

Iirc it's because spectrum has exclusivity on being a cable provider. But I believe their current contract ends in 2023.

Interesting timing for FiOS. Wonder if they make a push to get Worcester to end exclusivity so Verizon can Compete with Charter. (Hopefully Verizon doesn't just bid for exclusivity. As much as I don't like Charter I still want competition)

At the end of the day I'd rather a municipal fiber network paid for by the city.

Call or Better, if you see a Verizon truck installing, ask. The pole installer I spoke to was super nice and let me know a few areas they're expanding to. I also searched for expansion maps, but couldn't find anything.

What I do know... We're live here in Webster-Tatnuck sq area. I signed up the exact moment the website would allow me to (checked daily). The installer said he lived in Greendale area and they haven't set a schedule for line installation yet.

Yes. I'm on FiOS now. They're quickly rolling out to different streets. Watch for installation trucks and boxes in your area. I was told when the black cylinders were lifted off the ground to the cable lines that's when testing is done and live. It took about 4 days after that before Verizon website let me sign up.

Ill check tomorrow and report back. I didnt notice anything weird, but could be hidden behind bushes. The ONT box, which just looks like a skinny modem, was installed in my office (by request)
