More than one MA town deserves to be on that list. Leave New England and ask someone to pronounce Peabody or Leominster

I hear "Leo-min-ster" rather than "Lemon-ster" all the time lol 😂

Used to live in Leominster. Don't reccomend it lol. But it was always easy to tell who was from the neighborhood and who wasn't just by how they pronounced it

"Mister with a W" is what I tell foreigners

That’s the right answer. It’s definitely Wister or Wistah

Respectfully disagree, that's still a wrong pronunciation. It's more like Wuss-ter with an "o" sound it's not at all Wiss-ter with an "i" sound. Kind of like "Wish" is what you're saying right? But as Wist-er, is not correct.

Though I do hear that mispronunciation often. That's why we're called Wootown, not Wiitown.

I know plenty of Worcester natives who say it the Wister way.

It's still closer and easier for them that way. Because now that I think about it, you are right. I would still take Mister with a W over Worchester

Worchester is definitely the worst 😂

I've heard it, once, mispronounced as "Blur-schter". That one took some time to figure out what the f this old guy was even asking me...

Lived in Whitinsville (Northbridge) as a kid after leaving Fitchburg and everytime my best friend would come and visit he would tell everyone he was going to "White-mans-ville" it was hilarious and he wasn't exactly wrong either

I was born and raised in Worcester lol 508 baby... I've never given anyone a hard time for saying it like that because at least it's close, but it definitely irks me.
