Anyone know where I can learn how to play D&D? I’ve been wanting to get into it but can’t seem to find someone to teach me or somewhere to go. I know That’s Entertainment hosts nights but I don’t think they have beginners nights.

I'd love a real answer to this question. But also, I've been thinking casually about starting a local group. I love teaching new people.

I, too, would like to join a newbie group! I'm currently in a game with my husband and his friends, but I very much feel like an outsider since it's my first campaign and they're more his friends than mine, you know?

That's Entertainment sometimes has days where you can play through a single session campaign at the store.

I would say find 3-4 of your friends and just start playing. Who cares if you don't know all the rules, it's best to play with people you like and trust and just have fun. You can even dm yourself.

The staff at That's E is super friendly and passionate about the kind of nerdy stuff they sell and host events for. You could definitely ask for a run down of how to get started from someone there. You can pick up a starter kit there as well and read through the books, though the books are pretty pricey and not hard to find pdfs of online.

In this case, you would roll insight to see if they're lying(they are)

I'm already running something, but I'm not running it anywhere near Worcester.

I can, however explain stuff. I play in two campaigns and host one.

Edit: if you play PC games, I'd snag Solasta. It's the best reproduction of D&D on PC

The easiest way is to find a local shop or get your friends to start playing.

If that doesn't work, you can go through DND discords and jump into new campaigns online with random people. roll20 is what I have to use nowadays. There are plenty of people starting games nowadays online that will help new people learn.

That's Entertainment last I checked ran Adventures League games, they are officially sanctioned by the makers of D&D and are a great way to get your Tues into the mechanics.

Ask That’s E! To see if they can do rookies night. I bet there plenty of beginners out there w the same problem you have. I can’t imagine there isn’t a few vets out there who havent forgotten where they started and would help out. It only make the community bigger

That's E! offers beginner games and Adventurer's League. Great group of people and GMs that coordinate those events, so you'll be in good hands.

In addition, we have started up a convention night at Redemption Rock brewery in Worcester that we are attempting to run monthly. We had several sessions of D&D available at our inaugural event. We would love to see you at the next one tentatively planned for January 12th, 2023 from 5-9.

In addition, we have fired up a Discord server to bring together members of the community for board, card, and tabletop connections, so I'm sure we could connect you with one of the many GMs in the area, or even make some of those introductions at the next event on the 12th.

Feel free to DM for any additional information (that goes for anyone interested)! Pumped to welcome you to the gaming community. You will not be disappointed once you start dropping dice on the table.
