Three teenagers are charged with 9 counts of assault with a dangerous weapon after they ambushed and shot a group of middle school students earlier this week with an Orbeez gun.
Kids were walking when a car pulled up and fired on them. Stupid prank from a long-dead viral TikTok trend.
Legitimately curious if you think the charges are too harsh a charge in this case.
You know in middle school your 14-15 That’s not “small children” Middle aged men didn’t do this 🌚
Middle school is 11-14, if you don’t see a difference between those ages and high school ages then you are being daft.
I was 13 -14 in middle school . “Juveniles were charged , meaning they are under 18z the 3 “teenagers are facing 9 counts “ no 9 year old was assaulted 😭. Stop the bs . If those kids got out that car and hit them with a BAT they would be charged with assault with deadly weapon . If your’re really telling me that it’s the same punishment and charges your part of the problem. If one your kids was in that car you would be sick to your stomach knowing he’s facing those charges for gel gun you can buy at Walmart.
Do yourself a favor and learn what assault and Battery are. I’m not asking for the kids to spend time in jail or anything crazy, but they should be punished for breaking the law.

They’re marketed as toys but Gel Blasters can still cause significant damage if you get hit in the eyes at close range, so firing hundreds of rounds into a group of unsuspecting kids at point blank should be treated the same as if it were paintball or Airsoft guns. I carry pepper spray so they better be careful who they ambush

They start serious to make a example but I guarantee none of them does more than 6 months and probably 5 years probation or less.

Well nowadays you gotta kinda know if you assault a bunch of people with a weapon you going to jail. For how long depends on several factors though. I would say 40 days is reasonable with 2-4 years probation just to make them stay on a good path.
A bat , stick , brass knuckles , a knife is a dangerous weapon . A toy with gel balls isn’t . That’s my point . It’s so easy for someone to say they should get probation? Or jail time ? Like wtf is that. If a firearm is a dangerous weapon ; what makes a GEL gun “ Dangerous “ ——— potential to cause Serious harm or damage to an individual. Simple misdemeanor disorderly conduct. What a stupid idea to roll up on a group of unsuspecting kids and light em up with gel blasters. Those toys hurt, god forbid you get shot in the eye. That said, teenagers are stupid and I’m sure this wasn’t thoroughly thought out. I agree with the charges of assault, Assault is the act of committing physical harm. But it’s likely that they’ll get off with minimal prison time.
